Membership Scholarship
The California Valley Chapter is currently offering membership scholarships to local fundraisers and/or executive directors currently working for a non-profit organization experiencing budget constraints that would benefit from membership in AFP. Two scholarships are available each calendar year.
Deadline: Friday, October 12, 2007
Applications will be accepted for consideration in October and will be reviewed at the following chapter board meeting. Additional applications will be considered throughout the year based on available funds.
Benefits
The Chapter will pay for the recipient’s introductory national membership fee and the awardee will
pay the local dues for the first year of membership. Beyond the first year, the organization to which
the member belongs is expected to pay for membership dues, demonstrating to the organization’s
leadership the value of membership in AFP and that they will budget for the membership in the
future.
Eligibility
This opportunity is offered to individuals newly employed in fund development or new to the
opportunities and benefits offered by AFP.
Criteria for Selection
Priority will be given to applications with demonstrated financial need. Scholarship recipients will
be asked to serve on the National Philanthropy Day Committee. An organization may submit only
one application for membership per calendar year.
Scholarship Application
To apply, submit a completed application and narrative by Friday, October 12, 2007. Applications
