Fund Development Director - American Red Cross

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Exemption Status: Exempt (Salary)
Hours: Full Time

Position Purpose

This position is responsible for developing, implementing and managing the financial development of the Chapter. Develops and meets goals and objectives for short and long range fundraising programs including but no limited to: major gifts, individual donations, foundation and corporate donations and in-kind donations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for the overall administration and management of the Financial Development department.
  2. Responsible for the hiring, training, supervision, evaluation and development of employed staff and volunteers, within the department.
  3. Responsible for the development and management of the department budget.
  4. Develops and implements and annual and three year fund-raising plan, approved by the chapter Board of Directors, that maintains sound financial position sufficient to meet Chapter, National and Community needs/requirements.
  5. Work closely with the Financial Development Committee and sub-committees to plan and implement a resource development program based on cultivation and solicitations of gifts by committee members and other volunteers.
  6. Responsible for the supervision of updating and reviewing donor records in Grizzard on a weekly basis.
  7. Responsible for the supervision of proper acknowledgment of all donations, monetary and in kind, with an American Red Cross authorized thank you letter.
  8. Responsible for the supervision of updating, acknowledging and maintaining all records in regards to wills, estate donations and bequests.

Physical Demands

This position's work assignments may vary from day to day; there will also be prolonged periods of sitting and computer work. This Position requires the ability to stand, walk, climb and bend, kneel, balance, crouch and reach. This Position requires the ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull 10 to 50 lbs. This position requires the ability to drive during the day and the night.

American Red Cross maintains a smoke free work environment. Smoking is not permitted in any Red Cross facility or vehicle.
